DATAC
Remote Reader for the LGP Industry
Working closely with major gas marketers we have developed
Remote Reader technology to meet the specific needs of the
propane industry.
Propane companies who use wireless telemetry to remotely
monitor customer tank levels or meter gas usage realise significant
business benefits. Tanks are only refilled when required thereby
improving the productivity of delivery personnel and equipment.
DATAC offers the lowest cost of ownership with no rental
fees, low unit costs, a short payback period and minimum installation
effort. Customer data is secure and not available to third
parties.
The DATAC Remote Readers are designed for high reliability
and will operate from batteries for many years, even in severe
weather conditions. Intelligent signal processing in the devices
ensures reliable readings with data quality tags and provide
enhanced secure communications using auto recovery and time
synchronization routines.
The Remote Readers call into the propane marketers data center
at scheduled intervals or when an alarm or 'out of gas' condition
is detected and upload a history of gas usage. This consumption
profile allows the gas marketer to more accurately predict
their customer's future gas usage.
The historical and current level information is used to predict
days remaining before run-out allowing deliveries to be efficiency
scheduled and routed. This results in larger drop sizes, fewer
drops, better asset utilization and reduced overtime. The
avoidance of run-outs is a major benefit for end-users who
rely on the specialist gases being available for their business.
Business Benefits:
- Flexible reporting of accurate data
- Increased delivery productivity as real time data allows
optimum delivery routes to be planned
- Eliminate emergency delivery runs due to 'out of gas'
customer calls
Helps
maintain customer loyalty due to increased customer service
and reliability
- Reduce operating and administration costs
- Detect illegal gas fills
- Consumption profile supports inventory management decisions
and can help forecast future demand
System Features:
- Intrinsically safe operation
- FCC License free
- Radio telemetry
- Records tank fill and usage
- Long battery life
- Inbuilt diagnostics
- Cell phone Communications
Product Range:
|
GSM/GPRS Sender Unit
Collects readings from multiple reader devices and sends
recorded readings to the data centre at one-scheduled
times using GMS-SMS. Scans readings for alarms and sends
on alarm. The GSM Sender Unit can also accommodate level
gauges, meter inputs (with tamper detection) and an
RS485 port for interfacing with slave devices.
|
PSTN Sender Unit
Collects readings from multiple reader devices and sends
recorded readings to the data centre at pre-scheduled
times using consumers PSTN telephone. Scans readings
for alarms and sends on alarm. The PSTN Sender Unit
can also accommodate level gauges and meter inputs.
|
|
PSTN Meter Sender
Accumulates and stores counts from counters or meters
(With tamper detection) and relays this information
to the data centre over the consumers PSTN telephone
at predicted time intervals
|
Combined Level & Meter Readers
I.S combined level gauge and pulse meter interface device
that records tank level and consumption at scheduled
times and transmits stored readings to a sender unit
over a radio link at pre-scheduled times.
|
|
Configuration, Readout & Test Tools
Handheld configuration, installation, test and readout
tools.
|
|
Features
- Readings are taken at pre-scheduled times and validated
to be within range. Out-of-range, faulty reading,
low battery and tamper alarms are generated.
- Up to 5 separate level and usage alarms may be configured.
Can be used for scheduling delivery, preventing run-outs,
checking delivery, detecting over-fills and unscheduled
fills.
- Telephone senders (PSTN) operate in 'polite' mode
and will not initiate calls or continue a call when
the consumer's phone is in use.
|
- Reader units provide storage memory for 32 readings.
Sender unit's storage memory is expandable in blocs
of 32 readings, allowing usage history or profile
to be built up at the data centre.
- All readers can act as radio repeaters allowing
distant tanks to be monitored.
- All configurable items may be re-programmed from
the data centre using GPRS.
- Comprehensive sets of self-diagnostic information
are sent to the data centre with each call-in, providing
notification of any performance changes and allowing
scheduling of battery replacement.
