DATAC SCADA in Water
DATAC has been involved in the water industry since 1982.
DATAC systems have been used in a variety of applications:-
a) Point-to-point telemetry systems for remote monitoring
of levels, pressures, flows, pump and valve status indication,
etc.
b) Treatment plant automation using the DATAC RealFlex/FlexWin
system with local RTUs for automatic control of the various
processes within the plant such as:
- Raw water pumping
- Chemical dosing
- Filter backwashing
- Clear water storage
- Sludge bleed sequences
- Pump efficiency calculation
c) Pump control along water mains or in sumps, providing
not only a continuous supply of water but energy efficient
pumping.
d) Regional Supervisory Control Systems where the operation
of a number of treatment plants, reservoirs and pumping
stations are reported back to a Management Information System
at the water authorities' regional headquarters.
RealFlex and FlexWin features a powerful real-time event
driven multiprocessing SCADA software package specifically
designed for a PC-based hardware platform. Data can be exported
from the SCADA system database into the organisation's other
IT systems using standard connectivity based on Ethernet,
TCP/IP, etc.
Other third party software packages can be easily integrated
onto this platform providing transient network analysis, controller
training, on line real-time pipeline simulation, on line pipeline
leak detection and on-line predictive pipeline simulation.
